Finding your way around

Spark is a web app with a sidebar down the left and one page open at a time. Once you know the layout, the rest of these docs can say “open Project settings › Domain” and you’ll know exactly where to click.

The sidebar

Everything in the sidebar belongs to the project you’re in:

  • The project switcher sits at the top. It’s also where New project… lives.
  • Apps lists the project’s public apps — your chat app, online store, marketing site, and anything else your customers see — one row each, with a + for adding another.
  • Internal tools lists the pages only you see, in the same shape, with its own +. See the catalog of apps and tools.
  • Payments and Project settings are pinned at the foot.

A row can carry a small status marker, so you can tell something is happening without opening it: a pulsing mark while the agent works, a dot for unpublished changes, and “Waiting on you” when the agent has asked a question and stopped until you answer.

An app’s page

Click an app under Apps and its page opens — a header across the top, the preview below.

The preview sits in a frame with browser-style chrome: back, reload, and home buttons, then a URL pill. The pill doubles as a page menu — it lists the app’s pages, along with views you’d otherwise have to hunt for, like an empty chat or an error screen. Viewport presets on the right of the frame let you check the app at phone width.

On apps that sign customers in — the chat app and the online store — a Preview as control sits next to the URL pill. It lets you browse the preview as different people: everything unlocked (the default), a free user, someone signed out, or the owner of any of your offers — including a subscriber whose payment has gone past due. See customer accounts and getting paid.

The header holds the controls, right to left:

  • Edit opens the agent chat. It pulses while the agent works.
  • The Preview / Configure toggle, on the chat app only, swaps the preview for the Configure view — the app’s instructions and knowledge.
  • Publish takes what’s in the preview live.
  • The ⋮ menu holds rename and delete.
  • History, the clock icon, lists past versions. Restore brings one back — see preview and publish.

Internal tools

An internal tool — Users, Analytics, Marketing — looks different on purpose. The tool fills the page itself, and a slim bar above it switches between Live and Preview. There’s no browser frame, because the tool has no public audience to simulate.

Payments

The Payments page is a read-only canvas of your pricing: subscriptions, one-time purchases, and features, plus your Stripe connection status. Its Edit button opens the Payments agent — a separate chat, and the only thing that changes your pricing. Get paid covers the whole setup.

Payments is where money from your customers is handled. What you pay Spark lives elsewhere — read on.

Project settings

Project settings, pinned at the foot of the sidebar, has sections down the side:

  • General — the project’s name and its business profile, the plain-text brief the agent builds from.
  • Brand — colors, typefaces, logos, and a look-and-feel line. See brand settings.
  • Domain — your Project URL and any custom domains.
  • Email — how your project sends email.

Your plan and credits live in Account settings, under your avatar at the foot of the sidebar — look for Billing & usage in the account menu. That’s where you’ll find what you pay Spark and your credit usage; plans and credits explains it all.
